Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Aït Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley
Collection 8:00 am at the Hotel or Riad where you are staying in Marrakech. Departure towards the south of Marrakech and the High Atlas mountains through the Tizi N’Tichka pass with stops to enjoy the wonderful views to take pictures. Visit the women’s Argan cooperative, where we discover the process of crafting, and where they will explain the many properties of Argan for the human body. Continuing south, we turn off by a 6 km track leading to the fortified village of Aït Benhaddou where have time for lunch and a visit to the spectacular Kasbah which was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1989. In this unusual setting many international films were shot such as Gladiator, Jewel of the Nile, Sahara with Penelope Cruz..etc. After the visit we will continue the journey to Ouarzazate, a city called the great door of the desert, this served as one of the rest stops for the caravan linking Marrakech and Timbuktu, and which highlights the Kasbah of Taourirt (The Old town of Ouarzazate).From there we continue towards the Skoura palm grove, the Valley of the Roses where we enjoy the natural contrast of valleys, mountains and fragrance of its flowers. In the afternoon we arrive at the Dades Gorge. Dinner and overnight in Riad / Kasbah.
Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Rissani – Merzouga
After breakfast we go down a path full of adobe Kasbahs, each is different from the other. After several stops,we reach one of the most visited and impressive sights of Morocco, the spectacular “Todra Gorge”. The Gorge has formed a vertical wall of enormous proportions and great beauty. Undoubtedly, it is a great paradise for climbers and a unique location. Lunch at the same site, then,we continue our journey towards the desert to reach the impressive Merzouga dunes “Erg Chebbi” where we will take tea to taste our traditional hospitality. After a brief rest, we depart in a caravan of camels, which after an hour of walk, will lead to the camp of Haimas. Half way we will stop to enjoy a magical sunset on a desert dune. Arriving at the camp, we will have the opportunity to climb the Great Dune or small dunes near the camp, where they may watch the shooting stars and make wishes. After dinner in a magical setting, spend the night in the Haimas, in the heart of the desert. Live an unforgettable night.
Day 3: Merzouga – Draa Valley – Anti Atlas – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
You may wake up before dawn to watch the sunrise over the Great Dune. Return on camels to the hostel in Merzouga. Time to shower and eat breakfast. We begin a journey in our All-Terrain 4×4, crossing the arid and mysterious pre-desert landscapes until the Draa Valley, where we will make several stops to enjoy this beautiful valley that runs along the river of the same name. The Draa River is the longest in Morocco as it crosses across the country, reaching Mauritania. Cross the Anti-Atlas to reach Ouarzazate, where we have lunch. In the afternoon cross the High Atlas and arrive in Marrakech about 18:00 pm. Transfer to your hotel or Riad, end of the trip and our services.
